The United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties has been offering Bridges Out of Poverty workshops in Wayne and Holmes Counties since 2015. Over 1,500 participants have attended the workshops to date. Bridges Out of Poverty is a framework to understanding poverty, middle class, and wealth. The framework was designed by Dr. Ruby Payne. She has facilitators teaching the Bridges Out of Poverty workshops all over the world.

Bridges is a uniquely powerful tool designed for social, health, educational and

legal service professionals. It helps people whose daily work connects them with people in poverty.

In the workshop, you will discover case studies, data and more importantly life stories from those in poverty. This training will give you specific solutions you can implement right now.

As of 2019, we have partnered with Community Action Wayne Medina to facilitate this workshop. Please check out our events page for details of upcoming workshops.
