Receiving a scholarship for my youngest daughter and son has helped in numerous ways. In general, it has helped me to be able to afford to have them both in some extracurricular activities. They have learned things that they would not learn in school. For instance, my son took a film making class. The school doesn’t have that. My daughter has benefited the most. She takes tumbling, tap, jazz, and ballet. She has learned new skills and has honed in on what she really likes. She loves ballet and jazz. Those are her 2 favorites, and she also likes tumbling, but not like ballet and jazz. She is now 7, and she has developed and grown in dance. She feels the dance. The scholarship we receive helps us to afford this opportunity for her to be in more than 1 class, to do what she loves....dance. Thank you so much for providing a scholarship that helps with the cost of these programs.

Viola Startzman Clinic

Devon showed up at his before and after school provider every day with blackened teeth. He often complained of tooth pain. When the counselors tried to reach his parents to encourage them to take him to the dentist, they discovered dad was not in the picture, mom was in jail, and grandma was not able to take off work to take him to a dentist. We were able to get a consent signed, arrange transportation to our clinic, and care for Devon. We cured his infection, saved the tooth, filled 18 cavities, and helped him understand the importance of oral health care. He now has a toothbrush and uses it regularly.
